Log: Observed with Tele Vue Ethos 13mm, 115x and then Orion Edge-On 9mm, 167x and Orion Edge-On 9mm X2.0, 333x. Surprising start to the night! Wowed me as soon as I peeked through the eyepiece. Striking blue and orange double, reminds me of Alberio, it’s been a while since I’ve seen Alberio but this is just as good, maybe better! Orange star medium bright with faint diffraction spikes, blue star slightly dimmer, no diffraction spikes. Colors are, of course, actually slight- more yellow and pale blue, but they give the impression to the eye of being very deep and rich. The system is just barely visible to the naked eye with direct vision.
